Self-contained does not mean nothing else to organise
Our Contractor 200/3000/21 manual specifies that an electrical connection is not required. However, the machine still needs an appropriate water supply and diesel fuel.
Do not read “self-contained” as a promise that a water tank, trailer or every installation component is included. Confirm exactly what is supplied and what your proposed setup needs with our team.
The water arrangement should be checked against the selected model’s instructions. The Contractor manual includes a tank connection and a bypass return to the tank, so this is an installation detail to resolve, not an afterthought.
Choose around the work, not one specification
We list Contractor Series applications including farm equipment cleaning, mobile truck washing, contract cleaning, mining, council work and bin washing. Those jobs can involve very different access, water and operating arrangements.
Describe the surfaces, the equipment being cleaned and how the cleaner will travel between jobs. Pressure and flow should be considered together with the intended task, rather than treating the largest pressure figure as the automatic choice.

Allow for secure mounting and safe positioning
A skid-mounted unit needs a properly planned installation. Our Contractor manual requires the unit and hose reel to be secured. Discuss the mounting arrangement before building the rest of the setup around it.
The diesel engine and burner also make ventilation an essential consideration. Our manual warns about carbon monoxide and the need for adequate combustion air. A self-contained machine should not be treated as suitable for an enclosed location simply because it does not need mains electricity.

Build daily checks into the working routine
Before starting work, use the checklist for your model. The Contractor manual includes fuel and oil checks, hose inspection and checks for leaks at the gun and lance.
Make reporting damage part of the routine. A hose with visible deterioration is not something to work around to finish a job. Shut down and seek advice rather than continuing with suspect high-pressure equipment.
At the end of hot-water operation, follow the specified cooling and shutdown sequence. Our Contractor manual directs the operator to switch off the burner and run cold water until the system has cooled before shutting down.
Plan servicing before the machine gets busy
Our Contractor range is designed with service access in mind, but that access must remain available in the final installation. Avoid boxing the unit into a layout that makes inspection or maintenance difficult.
